Amy Pike

DVM, DACVB

Dr. Pike is a native Arizonan and a 2003 graduate of Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she served as an Army veterinarian, where her work caring for Military Working Dogs returning from deployment sparked a lasting interest in veterinary behavior medicine. She completed a residency in behavior medicine and became board certified in 2015.

Dr. Pike is the owner of the Animal Behavior Wellness Center and has been named one of the Top Veterinarians of Northern Virginia by NoVa Magazine for nine consecutive years. She is an internationally recognized speaker in veterinary behavior medicine and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed veterinary journals. Dr. Pike has conducted, co-authored, and published four scientific research studies and is a contributing author to five clinical textbooks.

She is the lead editor for the upcoming edition of Blackwell’s 5-Minute Veterinary Clinical Consult: Canine and Feline Behavior, scheduled for release in Spring 2026. Dr. Pike also recently co-authored Dog Parenting: An Illustrated Guide to Understanding, Training, and Bonding with Your Best Friend.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Pike mentors five clinical behavior residents and serves as a clinical instructor at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and in the Master’s Program in Applied Animal Behavior at Virginia Tech.

    Kidz Klub

    50,000 sqft, fully supervised, Kidz Klub gives kids a vacation of their own with daily activities schedule and adventures to explore.

    Mini rock climbing wall, pirate ship playground, mini-zipline, Coco Corral Animal Sanctuary and the CocoLand SCOUTS.

    Programs are grouped by age so you’ll always be with kids your own age (3 and under, 4-7 and 8-12).

    Kids receive their very own CocoPack with a backpack, hat, water bottle and t-shirt plus your own CocoLand scrapbook to make during your stay and take home as a souvenir.

    CocoLand SCOUTS program is filled with activities such as games, arts and crafts, nature walks and hands-on culinary explorations! Learn all about Saint Lucia from pirates to ecology to wildlife, all while you get to play and have fun. All SCOUTS will receive a workbook and scrapbook to fill with your adventures, photos and cool memories from your visit.

    For parents, CocoLand Kidz Klub staff are CPR trained and programs were conceptualized by U.S. educational professionals. Kidz Klub adheres to U.S. standards with low staff-to-child ratios and offer complimentary local cell phones so moms and dads can stay in touch while you’re out on your own adventures or simply enjoying a relaxing day by the pool.

    Kidz Klub facilities include an air-conditioned napping room complete with cribs and playpens. Coconut Bay is the only resort that offers child care services for babies as young as 3 months.

    Private Babysitting services available for guests of the Splash wing. For details and hourly rates, please contact Guest Services. If babysitting services are required after 11 pm, please note an additional fee will be added to cover the cost of a taxi for the staff member, as public transportation is not available at that hour.

    Private babysitting services require reservations 24 hours in advance. Saint Lucia VAT (sales tax) is not included in these prices and will apply in addition to the hourly rate.

    Coco Corral

    Kids of every age can meet all kinds of animals at the Coco Corral! Pay a visit to the Corral and spend some quality time with friendly goats, ducks, sheep, donkeys and horses.

    Most of the Coco Corral animals are rescues and all of them are local, which means each animal encounter is an authentic Saint Lucia experience.

    Turtle Watch

    From March to November Saint Lucia’s beaches are nesting grounds for three species of endangered sea turtles: the mighty Leatherback, the colorful Hawksbill, and the grass-eating Green sea turtle.

    As part of the CocoLand Kidz Klub SCOUTS program, children learn to identify different species of sea turtles and participate in sea turtle-themed games, arts, and crafts. During the nesting season, sea turtle watching includes beach walks, nest identification and protection, and the thrill of seeing hatchlings begin their journey of survival. These awareness efforts teach young guests about how they can protect the nesting sea turtles and hatchlings that call Coconut Bay’s beach home.

    Guests of all ages are invited to learn about these extraordinary endangered reptiles, understand what can be done to save them, and see the wonder of baby hatchlings emerging from their nests and making their way into the ocean.

    In addition to guest education, during nesting season resort staff monitors the mile stretch of resort beach marking nests for safety, supervising hatchling releases, and reporting statistics to island conservationists.

    Conservation efforts are coordinated with the Saint Lucia Department of Fisheries which is the Government authority responsible for Fisheries and marine wildlife management in Saint Lucia.
