Erin Hennessey

DVM, DACVR, DACVPM

Dr. Erin Hennessey earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Her diverse professional background was cultivated over 13 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, a career that quite literally took her around the world.

Driven by a passion for military working dog medicine, Dr. Hennessey served as the attending veterinarian for the U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Multi-Purpose Canines while also earning advanced specialization in radiology. Following her residency, she served at the Holland Veterinary Hospital in San Antonio TX, the Department of Defense’s veterinary specialty and referral center serving multiple government agencies.

Dr. Hennessey currently practices as a full-time civilian radiologist while continuing her service in the Army Reserves. She has a particular professional interest in musculoskeletal imaging, the responsible implementation of artificial intelligence in veterinary diagnostic imaging, and veterinary education.

Dr. Hennessey lives outside Philadelphia with her husband, three energetic boys, a spoiled pit bull, and three cats - embracing the joyful chaos of boy mom life.

Steven Mensack

VMD, DACVECC, MHA

Steven Mensack, VMD, DACVECC is a board-certified member of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Dr. Mensack earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of California, Davis, before completing his veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1993. During veterinary school, he developed a strong interest in critical care through extensive rotations in the intensive care unit.

Following graduation, Dr. Mensack spent two years in a private general and emergency practice in Nevada. He then completed a four-year residency training and clinical teaching program at Tufts University in Massachusetts, where he further refined his expertise in emergency and critical care medicine. Dr. Mensack achieved board certification in Emergency and Critical Care in 1999.

His clinical interests include fluid and electrolyte therapy, transfusion medicine, toxicology, and clinical nutrition for critically ill patients. Dr. Mensack has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on a wide range of critical care topics.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Mensack enjoys spending time with his wife, Gina Ann, their eight children, two grandchildren, and their deaf Dalmation, “what?”. He also enjoys working out, golf, downhill skiing, domestic and international travel, and classic rock music.
